Hands of Jesus

I finished my first ceramics project. It was a cup that represented an artist who was a great influence in his time. I had chosen Michaelangelo, mainly because the “Pieta’ was the first sculpture that I saw at the World’s Fair in NYC as a child. I used my own hands as a model. We critiqued our cups and interestingly enough, one of my classmates said that the cup looked like the hands of Jesus or God. The hands seemed to be offering a drink of water perhaps? They are very simple and very expressive.
